If you have a financial need for lower cost therapy:
I am a member of the Open Path Psychotherapy Collective, which connects clients with therapists for discounted fees between $30 - $50 per session. I accept five Open Path clients at a time at a fee of $50 per 50-minute or $80 per 90-minute session.
I also work with the Pro-Bono Counseling Project in Maryland. This organization connects clients with therapists for free or discounted session fees up to $30. I accept one Pro-Bono client at a time.
While I cannot guarantee I have open slots with these organizations, I highly recommend them if you have financial need.
A single strategy session is $125. I have two coaching packages - one includes 3 months of biweekly coaching and costs $495. The other includes 6 months of biweekly coaching and costs $995. Payment plans are available for each package. Please view my coaching page for more information on each package.
Do you take insurance?
Currently, I only accept Maryland Medicaid aka Medical Assistance. If you would like to use your insurance, please have your insurance ID ready when you book your first appointment.
I don’t directly participate in any other insurance panels. Many PPO plans will reimburse some percentage of your treatment cost. If you wish to attempt to be reimbursed by your insurance company, I am happy to provide you with the receipts and coding needed to do so. I cannot guarantee reimbursement, however – this all depends upon your insurance plan. If you have a high deductible, you may be able to submit the receipts from our sessions toward your deductible. I'm happy to discuss how to address these possibilities with your insurance company. I recommend using the service Better to help you with reimbursement.
What is the difference between therapy and coaching?
Creativity coaching is about helping you achieve your creative goals, like finishing an album or novel, or getting your creative mojo back again. Therapy is for when you need to wade through the emotional stuff like working through a breakup, trauma, or grief, or when you feel like you may have anxiety or depression.
What can I expect at our first session?
Before we meet, you'll fill out forms in my online system, which include providing your contact information, giving informed consent for treatment, policies and procedures, and going over payment options. When we first meet, I’ll go over the forms with you. We’ll then spend the rest of the session getting to know one another and beginning to set goals for our time together. You’re welcome to ask me any questions at this time and throughout the therapeutic process.
Before we talk, you'll receive a questionnaire you can fill out online. Your answers to this will help me get to know you and your goals a bit better. At our first session, we'll go over your goals and try to get them as specific and action-oriented as possible, so you can start working on them right away.
